I realize we need a single light source for projectors, i actually want to use this setup as a work lamp
when working on the car....the MH lamps pants any halogen lamp ive used.

The ballast may run the lamps, however, I don't see how it can possible ignite them.

MH lamps are not good for applications where they can be subjected to physical movement. Vibration or shock can disrupt the lamp arc, causing the lamp to go out, and then you have to wait for it to cool before it can restrike.

not to mention the heat... just get yourself a nice halogen, I have like 6 of them and none are lacking. I work exclusively at night also
