Hello, I just started building this projector 2 months ago and i am on the verge of finishing it. I first had a problem with my projected image the edges where very very dark (can't see anything on the edges i think its a problem from my triplet diameter and focal length (both of those are small)

Specs:
15'' widescreen flatron lg lcd
400 watt metal halide HQI-BT 400W/D E40 400W 5200k Powerstar Osram
220 mm FL
330 mm FL
330 mm triplet
without a fan at the mean time beacuse my enclosure is very big.when i make it smaller i will put a fan.
27x15x15 inch enclosure, i know that it's very big but this is only a testing enclosure. I will make it smaller .

P.S:new to this forum

Hello, this halogen turned out to be very hot and not as bright as the 400 watt MH. So i bought the 400 watt MH.

Ordered my 330 fresnel and my 330 triplet. Here's a pic of my homemade fans that i connected to a cell phone charger biggrin.gif . Feel free to comment!!

update:

Installed my fans, lamp, ballast and tempered glass.
The thing behind the lamp is a nescafe can cut in half. I want to protect the wood. I am also using it as a reflector.
I am having a bit of a problem here as u can see i put a line between the lamps arc to the triplet and the lamp's arc isn't to the middle of the triplet. Got any ideas on how to align the lamp's arc with the triplet??(problem solved)

i solved the problem for centering the bulb. biggrin.gif

Update: got two new switches and made sleds for my rear fresnel and LCD.
I made two switches. One is for the bulb and the other one is for the LCD and the fans. I didn't want to put everything in one switch because i didn't want the bulb or the LCD to interrupt each other.

Ow far is your lamp away from the surface of the rear fresnel? Is it less than 220 mm?
