So i've noticed that there's a large amount of people that have problems with their projectors after a long period of exploitation of the PJ's (around 1-2 years). What happens is that they get either a yellow or a red blur around the center of the projected image. What is that is it the UV light or the heat that is the problem?

and

If affected which is the most common object that causes the blure?...fresnels,LCD etc.

So to stop this i ordered a piece of plastic sheet that protects from UV light and planning on putting it on the tempered glass.
The sheet it self is what i think the best i've seen in not reflecting the light and obsorbing it.

Waiting for an answer 10x.

Best regards George Vulchev.

Lumenlab used to sell a UV protective sheet, and we still recommend the use of Lexan XL10 (Polycarbonate with a UV blocking agent) as a heat/UV shield.

I believe that heat starts to kill the LCD after a while, particularly if the cooling setup is substandard, though UV will also yellow the fresnels.

The best thing is to use a lexan xl10 but the problem is that i my area there aren't any companies that distribute the sheet.
So i thought why not use an alternative UV sheet and attach it to the tempered glass. It shouldn't cаuse any problems. The sheet it self is very thin like the one's they use on sunglases. But it's transperent and it doesn't absorb light or deflect's it.

Oo and one more thing. The PJ's in an unsplit set up.
These components are matchable right ?

330mm Triplet lens

330/220 Fresnel lens

15" LCD HP1530 monitor

400W 6400K Philips metal halide lamp

250..400W ballast

I bought an unsplit fresnel but can i split it.I mean there's a tiny gap between them and they can move from each other a little at the gap,but can i
split them? Is it gona be save?

Yes, as I said, LL used to sell a UV blocking sheet. I have one in my first 15" projector. It works well, that projector has been running for quite a few years.

I believe edmounds optical sells the UV film like LL used to carry, one of the optical online stores has it for around $12/sheet big enough for a 15.4" monitor. I have it but haven't installed it yet.
