Hi there,
I've been given a 40" lcd panel, with no psu. I wanted to strip it back and use it as a table for reactivision. ( http://www.reactivision.com ) I am also very poor, and would like to avoid buying a power supply if i can.
I have found the service manual for the panel, i dont have the model number to hand, but it's saved on my main pc.
As far as i can tell, there is a mainboard, which contains a driver chip and a vga input. I was hoping to ignore the other 4 input bords, disconnect them, and simply power up the bare lcd without.
Does this sound very ambitious? I've figured out where to send what voltages to power up the board, but as this involves rigging an old laptop and psu together, i am dubious and definitely worried about blowing the board and the connected panel.
I've been browsing this forum for a fair few years, it's amazing how far diy projection has come along. I figured if anyone knows about stripping back panels it's gna be you lot.
