I dont know the proper place to ask this but I have an evo 1.1 projector and I think my lamp is dying.
the screen is not as bright as before and i can see something like a dark spot when an image is projected on my wall.
I had this projector since last February and I think its time to get a new lamp.
I went to the store and seen they were sold out.
Anywhere else I can get a replacement lamp?
Also if i posted in the wrong place, im sorry.

For the dark spot, check your fans. One of mine will do this sometimes when it's very warm, and it's because the LCD overheats.

For where to post, I'd suggest that you post a WTB in the Trading post. It does seem as though your lamp may be aging.
Seriously though I'd first look at the cooling for your LCD. It may be that your fans are getting a bit dusty, or may not be working as well as they ought to. (I've been meaning to look at mine where I have this problem.)

im kinda scared to open it without damaging the unit, would there happen to be a guide of some sort so i can do as you say?
if dust is the problem, I would like to properly clean the fans and lcd without damaging anything.

I opened up my evo and seen what the problem was, there is a small burnt spot on my bulb/lamp.
I really need a bulb badly and there is no other place that offers it for my unit?

A burned looking spot on an HID lamp isn't unusual, and doesn't mean that the lamp is burned out, or even getting weak. I have an eVo 1.1 lamp around somewhere, but I was keeping it for when I need it.

So.......................
How would I get rid of the burnt spot then?
I would think that would be the reason why im asking about a bulb replacement.

You may not need to "get rid of the burned spot" -- that spot may not be in evidence at all while the lamp is lit, it could simply be a dark coloured deposit of the metal salts which are vaporised while the lamp is lit. Only a luxmeter could tell you for sure. The dark colour is generally material from the original electrodes, which erode over time, which is responsible for hte eventual lamp failure.
The point, however is that no matter what the cause of the dark spot, this will not cause dark spots on your projection. In order for that to happen the defect must be much closer to the LCD, or in the LCD itself. It simply cannot. I'd be perfectly happy to sell you my brand new eVo 1.1 lamp, but I honestly don't think that it's the problem. (And besides, you can find other lamps for retrofit for cheaper.)
