Does anyone know what operating voltage and current is on the SP-LAMP-018 / SHP58 HG Burners are for the infocus X2? I'm trying to see if I can find an equivalent 200W Metal Halide lamp with same Voltage and current and see if that works on my Projector. I know that sunnylpw hs successfully usd an MH lamp on a SHP ballast.

I think its around 110 volts and the current is low once fully lit. I dont have a stock lamp so I cant test it but I have a 200W powerball hooked up to it and it lights up. The problem in retro fitting the X2 is focus of the lamp. I even drilled the reflector to get better bulb placement and it just doesnt give a bright image. It was much more dim than the HID mod. Good Luck post results...I'll take a picture of my setup......the drilled reflector cracked and was trashed.

the AC lamp can run in DC ballast but not long time, DC lamp has one bigger pole , that is + pole , if fit a smaller pole in here, it will be burned. short life.
and that art iength is so large, it will lost many light

It really baffles me why more people have not tried a different bulb.
To it seems there should be plenty of lights for modding at servicelighting.com
I am waiting for a friends bulb to burn out so I can try a mod myself.

so what about UHP Lamps. Are they AC or DC? Also is there a actual difference between UHP and SHP other than UHP made by Philips and SHP made by Pheonix.
Also what is this high or low voltage ignition and how do you know which oe you need?
Thanks
