Ok so far I am just doing pc input via VGA. The projector works fine i just have the issue of the screen being a little too large. I need a way to adjust the pc's output so it does not use the full size of the screen, without the screen auto resizing. Currently an 8600m is hooked up which is not giving me the option to do this. Eventually a ATI x1600 will be hooked up but it has decided to have some issue's as well not starting!

Also if i decide to buy a box that will allow component, svideo, & composite input into VGA is there a box that will support this resizing? (really hoping but doubtful)

Powerstrip is the answer.

Note, however that while this works fine for the Windows desktop, and most media players, it will NOT work with DirectX of OpenGL games. These programs access the video card directly, and therefore bypass Powerstrip.

And yes, there are converter boxes. I have a ViewSonic N6 which takes these things and outputs a VGA signal.

I know there are converter box's. But is there a box that will allow me to resize the the image running through that. For example can I buy a box that will allow me to plug a ps2 into it and run vga to the monitor, but stretch/shrink the image on the monitor via the box?

Yeah... A TV tuner card for your PC. That's about it...

it matters what screen you are using,
if it doesn't support 1:1 pixel mapping it will always rescale
