how to tighten shaft collars?

Been assembling my micro v1 over the last few days. Hit one small problem how are you supposed to attach the collars to the threads?
Have tried taking the screw out and clamping them but they are still a bit loose.

Tighten, tighten, tighten the screw. I use the short end of the allen wrench in the screw head so I have the long side for leverage.

note to self:
If you use 3/32"(2.38mm) allen wrench from the imperial set not the 2mm allen wrench from the metric set its simple!!!
