Hi all,
I have just got a Compaq armada 1590DT i am going to pull it apart and get the 12" screen of it i will get some pics asap
but does any one know what control card will drive this monitor
thanks
jeffek
not alot of people use laptop screens , it can be done but finding a controller is almost impossible
the controller has to be programed for the particular monitor.

Why not just use the computer to drive it? There are many ways to use the Xbox or TV with a laptop.

the problem with that is where do you put the laptop safety.gif
not saying it cant be done but will be difficult as usualy u have to find an extension for the panel wire
i dont know much about using a laptop for the pj. (other members on this forum can help with that)
however i have never seen one since i have been a
member , so that tells me it must be impracticable

you can sometimes pick up a 15" kit or even a 12" kit fairly cheap from the trading post
but do be advised , this will prob be the most expensive part of your pj .
it is the one part that is imo worth the money . especialy if this is your first pj

huh, so I guess my projector doesn't count?

For me, and it is my first PJ, the light was the most expensive part; as it should be. It is not hard to find space for a laptop in a pj build. I did build bigger than most would I think but not so much as to make a difference. The real factor in size was the fresnel, which at 320 x 400 was the largest part of the entire assy.
