Hi guys, I'm wondering if any of you tech Gurus can help with some trouble shooting. I have replaced the lamp on my old Evo V1 due to a lamp source fault warning and I am getting the same warning with a brand new lamp. Does this usually indicate a ballast problem? If not, is there anything I can check first?

I will appreciate any help that will get me back in my favorite viewing recliner. ohnoes.gif

According to the eVo V1 manual:

So, I'm guessing you saw Red/Green or Orange/Green LEDs before and after the lamp replacement. Is this correct?

Thanks for your rapid response 'Quasi_Mojo', the manual I have just has the prompt voice no color indicators.
I'm getting a flashing "red" signal which should indicate that it's overheating for some reason, it only lights for about 5 minutes. All filters are clean, should I change the position to a more ventilated area or is there any other thing I should check? Thanks agian, Fred.

Are all the fans operational?
You can try moving it to a more ventilated area to see if it's a cooling issue, or maybe have an external fan blowing over the eVo.

I thought they were both running. I'll try to open it up this coming week, I'm on a road trip this week-end. I'll let you know If I detect any fans that stop running or anything else that looks suspicious. Thanks for replying.

Well I'm back from an extended trip and I looked over the Evo V.1 to get an idea of what I'll need to pry this thing open, but it seems to be hermetically sealed with the exception of what looks like two snap locks on the bottom part of the casing. I tried lightly prying those with a flat screwdriver but they don't seem to give. I thought I'd wait for more expert advise before going into the actual surgery. rolleyes.gif Any suggestions?

Thanks Quasi_Mojo, just one more ignorant question if you don't mind. The manual shows two fuses, any idea what those are for? It would seem that any resistance in a circuit could trigger a symptom of overheating, but I'm just guessing, being that occurs with a new lamp. Who knows, maybe the interior has some dust. I'll check out the thread you recommended above. Thanks
