Hm..so all you did was mess with the gamma settings, and that solved your brightness issue?!

yup, i increased the gamma to 1.8 and changed the rgb level on the lcd panel to get the required brightness.i am currently using an off white wall for projection so the whites look a little yellow and the blue looks a little on the green side other than that the pj seems to be pretty good.
