Hi there. Please guide me.

I have a viewsonic dlp 2200 lumen projector. I want to use the current projector to display image from larger distance without loss in brightness. So I was just thinking about replacing the bulb with a higher one say 4000 lumen.

Can this be done.

If yes please guide

thanking you in advance

Welcome to the forum.

You can find more info on commercial projector modding on the Lumenlab forum by following this Google search: site:lumenlab.com mod lamp commercial DLP

You might run across a "quirk" when searching using Google, however. If you notice the thread looking "wonky" like this image, simply go up the the top right corner of the thread and click on Options and then Switch to: Standard.

You might, however, find even more info elsewhere on the Internet: mod lamp commercial DLP projector

I would say it can't be done. The PJ's power supply will only run about the same wattage lamp so you can't just change to a brighter lamp. Even if you could the new higher power lamp would make more heat so the cooling system would need to be beefed up too.

A brighter lamp might have a slightly larger arc too so the increase in brightness might not make it to the screen.

You could run two PJ's side by side but you will have to sink the two DLP light color wheels....

Nothing will be easy for that idea.
