I've never really been interested in all those First Person Shooter games that have flooded the market. Or the Driving/Racing games. Never liked the Sports genre, either. Pretty much the same for the Flight Sims. I really liked the TombRaider franchise, though - and not just because of the buxom Lara Croft.

One game series that I've always been interested in, starting way back in the mid-80s, was the Battletech/MechWarrior franchise.

Work has been keeping me pretty busy, and very worn out, the last few weeks - so I've not seen the following until now. It seems that, last week, there were three teasers released showing short clips from what seemed to be a new MechWarrior title:

On July 9th, Smith & Tinker released a 3 minute teaser video (showing in-game play) to the world. I think it looks pretty kick-ass! (I really love the Hula Girl in the cockpit)

IGN has a pretty cool feature they call Rewind Theater, where they have a voice-over commentary about the clip.

In the past few days, teaser trailers have appeared online that have gotten fans excited about the possible announcement of a new MechWarrior game. Well, we can confirm that the title is in development. Forget what you've played before; say hello to MechWarrior. That's its full title, there's no 5 or V after its name; this is a complete reboot for the famous franchise. To learn more, we have an exclusive interview with Smith and Tinker co-founder Jordan Weisman and Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games. Weisman was also the co-founder of FASA and a co-creator of the BattleTech universe that MechWarrior is based upon.

first game I ever played multiplayer with my son. This is the game that got him interested in computers and gaming. It's been a curse and blessing. Can't wait to challenge him again.

I LOVED MW up til v4 when we lost the ability to really customize.
Playing MW on a big monitor with a forcefeedback JS and some thumpers...heaven! wink.gif
