Hey guys, first time poster, long time lurker. Just got my lcd in the mail and started to strip it and was wondering what you guys think so far?i've seem to have found a zip connector that im not sure how to loosen any ideas guys?

zif connector solved..now im unsure of what i should be seeing now as i have the lcd out...one side is black the other side has a mirror like surface on it..is this normal?judging by how this monitor goes togeth and how it will sit in my box ill have to get a extension for that ribbon cable for that zif connector^...any ideas?

If one side (non-backlight side) has sort of a matte finish on it, it's probably an anti glare layer. It's recommended that you leave it alone until you've read 5000 posts on anti glare stripping.

Thanks Quasi, i'm in Airdrie so nice to see another Albertan...now i just have to find the ffc extension and start building my box...i'm holding off on removing the ag until I get her fired up...

May have found a source for a 10 pin jumper board after searching all day...just hope I don't have to order 5000 of them..Nice to see a few Canadians on here...maybe ill have to pick your guys brain for more information on the fresnels and triplets as I still have a few questions on things...yes i've read the FAQ but I still have a few questions...

Well got everything i need.. for the FFC extension I found a place called quadrangle products in new jersey that had no problem selling retail..i got an ffc extension PCB and 6 inch cable...now to start building the box
