So I just purchased another as is unit off ebay. An Optoma EP719 DLP projector. We will see how well it works when it gets here. It is gonna be awhile till I have something running as the lead time on the new Luminus Phlatlights are ~15 weeks. This one has an HDCP capable DVI-D port and higher resolution then my older projector. I am hoping to get more brightness out of this one due to the higher efficiency of DLP optics. After I get it running with a regular white LED I might try to retro fit it with 3 emitters one of each color and make a circuit that will fire them corresponding to the color wheel. This might be a little bit tricky

If you're going to fire them in sequence, then why not fire them in sequence instead of the colour wheel? I suppose that it'd mean needing to get a closer match for the RGB colours, butit would seem to make sense to me.

Well I am going to use just a white LED for now. I will have to do a lot more work to get the sequencing right to sync up with the movements on the DMD mirror. It has to do an ON/OFF or ON/OFF for each color to make up the colors when using a single chip dlp setup.

Still working on troubleshooting the main PCB. There is a short. Thanks to Prson with some readings and help

Short is still around mean while during my troubleshooting I tore a trace off the board! Underneath an IC! At this point I think this DLP's days are numbered. Will have to find me a new unit.
