Hey all. Through my bro's work, I have a shot at a great deal on a Logitech DiNovo Cordless Desktop. Logitech reports the range at 2 meters. This range would just barely meet my needs. I intend to have a regular form-factor PC hidden in a cabinet beside my projection screen, and a wireless keyboard/mouse combo on my coffee table.

At 2m, it would just work with the stuff on the coffee table, but bringing it into my lap on the couch would probably exceed that range, and bringing it over to the bar is completely out of the question.

My questions:

1) Does anyone here have experience with Logitech's Fast RF based products? This is *not* the Bluetooth version of the DiNovo. How well do they work? Is 2m really the limit, or are they OK to 3m?

2) I was thinking I might mount the receiver in the ceiling of my loft, above the coffee table, which would effectively extend the range in a non-intrusive way. But how long can I run a passive USB cable before I need to shell out for a repeater?

Thanks for the feedback. I've ordered it, I'll follow-up with info on how the range works out.

I have a Logitech wireless mouse with the "6 ft" limit, and that's pretty much where it is. It's pretty frustrating to get outside of the range. Where I would want to sit on occasion, I would always have to lean forward. I guess it may depend on the receiver placement. It says not to place it near any other electronics, but there isn't such a place in a room like mine. I would go blutooth, up to a 10m range I think, a lot better.

I use the logitech mx duo. I have the reciever set up on a shelf under the projector. I sit with my back to it about 6'-7' in front of it. As long as the reviever is up high there is no problem.

I'm sure the new bluetooth version would be even better.
