Well this is my first of hopefully many posts.

hopefully some of the more pro builders here can help me if i run into problems which im sure i will.

a little about me..

I love to make things by hand, and i can build just about anything unless i get bored 1/2 way through.
I tend to have a problem with over design and building to much ... but hey thats me and its what i do and i do it well.

and i know this is off topic but it was awesome .... i just watched my dog leap into the air and catch a fly in her mouth... thats just incredible....

anyways. Ill start with introducing my design as soon as i finish.

Just yesterday I was standing a couple of feet away from a tree swallow in a nesting box trying to coax it to get used to me. Sometimes they'll play with a feather in the air with me and each other on good days. Anyway, it's sitting in the hole in the box giving me these strange looks and a fly buzzes nearby and it stretches out and snaps it right out of the air. Yum!

this board is an electronic switch board for the Audio video i can hook up 4xS-video's devices and 8Xrca devices it understands which device is on and automatically switches the video to that device without user control.. like if i turn on a xbox it understands the xbox is on and just automatically makes the switch to route it. it also has some mode switches that can manually change which device is used and it has an order to the pathways... like video from cable box or computer is primary while xbox is secondary sso if they are both on one trumps the other..

as for the whales... Ive been saying it all along they are planning something.. i dont attempt to know what it is but i know they are planning something.

OK this is a picture of an OPTOMA EP721 running without a lamp in it ... the projector thinks there is a lamp but there isnt...

I bypassed the lamp check .. there is no service manual for this model or labels on the board but it seemed easy enough
for anyone that has this model.. you can bypass this by wiring the YELLOW and the Brown together on J9 on the main board for the .88n01g001 boards... i know multiple models use this board so if ur looking thats how you do it.

so here is the bulb that is "suppose" to go in the projector....

180W SHP bulb which im guessing is a Sodium -high-pressure bulb... can anyone verify that i looked it up couldnt find much and im not a light bulb expert...

I guess since im using my old DLP which i wasnt planning on but ended up doing it anyways .... my next step is toooo.....*shrug*--figure out how much light i can pump into it and be safe for the projector and get good coloring through the DLP wheel... If i remember right the brightness on this projector blew and that was with a commercial 180W bulb in there... so any suggestions ...???

All I can say is - wow!?! By the looks of your knowledge of electronics I think your pass LCD and could do a DLP build instead.

According to the Optoma site, it verifies that it takes a 180W UHP.

odd here is a look up on a replacement bulb site.. it says 180W SHP--

i wonder wat the difference is.

tigerdirect.com has it as uhp and amazon has it as shp and 1000bulbs has it as shp and optoma has it as uhp

I was going to say that ProjectorCentral.com lists the lamp as a 200W UHP, but I thought Optoma would have the definitive answer.

as for the lamp im going to try a new energy source called CHI ENERGY ive attached a design picture.

now chi energy can be dangerous when focused so i do not advise you to try this at home

but really i bought a new fan today as you can see it should get the job done its a 115V14w muffin fan i believe 7 inches didnt measure with a ruler but i have my ways of knowing.

im just a little concerned it maybe to much power for my DLP......

i need someone to tell me what they think about this...
its a monster throw 4x ssc p7 bin c rated 3000+ lumen reflector... do we think this would be to much? its rated at 16,000lux @ 1meter.

Do you have any more pics? Also, it looks as though there are 4 light sources - is the 16kLux@1M for one or all four?

Once again I'm humbled by the knowledge people on this board posses . Although it does make me feel a little more confident in my simple folded pj I'm building. Lol
