You're better off sticking with your original thread: http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28069

this doesn't have much to do with my projector being built, since it's up and running, and i thought it would be a home theater question. anyway i'm just looking for some help on this. it seems everything i find on the
is 360 related. i was hoping the 360 and original xbox had the same connector(prop.end) coming out the back and i could use the 360 cable that goes to vga. just wanting to spend money on something that works and not wasting it and uselees stuff collecting in a drawer somewhere. but thanks for finding my post i've been searching for ,i'll bookmark it this time....

My apologies - I must have been tired.

Since you're using a LCD panel that only has VGA input, and your laptop (used as an HTPC, I'm guessing) only does VGA output, You'd have to run the XBox independently of the laptop.
After a little searching, I think this might be your best option: Neoya X2VGA 2 (you might be able to find the earlier X2VGA or X2VGA+ cheaper)
QUOTE
Comparing with the former X2VGA, the X2VGA 2 is compatible with various gaming consoles and video devices, and presents you with the perfect visual performance by its brand-new design of video processing circuits. Moreover, the newly integrated two sets of video inputs and PC pass-through function on the X2VGA 2 even allow a quick switch between your gaming consoles and PC.

I used the following Google search to find this info: xbox -360 vga projector

I too use a 360 as the media source then use a xbox to vga cable, got it for 9$ on ebay.

i bought that one also. and the one made by microsoft(40 bucks) there's an optical audio on that cord that lets you play 5:1 dolby. you have to buy another cable and hook it in the receive to surround sound.
alittle more drywall, paint and carpet and the room will be ready for action......
