Hi!

I had a commercial DVD player connected through SCART to my TV LCD Sony Bravia KDL-26U2000. The TV had 2 SCART both RGB enabled, while the DVD player has only one SCART; in the DVD player settings menu I have selected RGB out. Everything was OK.

Now I have changed the TV. I got a Panasonic Viera TX-26LXD8. This one has 2 SCART both RGB enabled also, but now, when I connect the DVD player to any Panasonic SCART, I get picture in green tint; I checked cables and connections, I tried 4 different SCART cable with the same result. I can solve the problem switching DVD player SCART output from RGB to CVBS (Composite I mean...) in the settings menu; this way colors are ok, but quality is poor. On Sony Bravia I was able to watch DVDs through SCART cable in RGB quality without problems...

Someone can explain me the reason why this happens?

Have you tried Component RGB cables?

I own cable that have SCART lead to one end, and 3 RCA plugs to other end (one RED, one GREEN, one BLUE). This is what you call "Component RGB cable"?

Anyway I already tried this one and it results in a pink/magenta screen tint...

I think this happen because "RGB setting" in the DVD player menu is not real RGB, but is a COMPONENT signal output over common RGB pinout...but this not explain to me why on Bravia LCD it was OK...

I really want to understand difference between Sony and Panasonic SCART lead...
