I'm not sure what you mean by etching?
at a guess i would figure your refering to the problem with early plasma screens where apon if you leave a static image (like a game menu) on the screen for to long it would 'Burn' itself onto the screen.
If that is what you mean then no it wont be an issue these projectors use LCD panels which dont have the same problem as plasma's.

If you mean something else then i am wasting your time but let us know and maybe try and explain some more.
