Hello!
Does anyone know where to buy DC to DC converter which converts 12V to 14V? It should handle at least 5 amps.

Thank you!

I've never heard of such a thing, because it's a very uncommon need. What's your situation? With more info, maybe someone will have a suggestion, or maybe someone will tell you that one of the devices has a ޱ2V tolerance.

Most DC products are able to use a rather wide range of input. Inverters and the like are designed to make use of widely varying current as well. Can you tell us more about what you are trying to do? Solarpanels to a direct DC input perhaps?

Welcome to my world.

I've done a lot of research into DC-DC power supplies, as it's something that I was interested in doing for car audio. I was looking into things that could take in 12VDC, and give me a split rail power supply with +15V and -15V.

No, it's not easy.

Maxim IC has a couple of integrated circuits which can be used to bootstrap a 5-12VDC signal into a 15VDC signal, (And one into a -15VDC signal too) so that's how I got my circuit designed. I was just looking for a preamp audio signal processor though, so 200mA current was good enough for me. There is also a higher power version which can produce 1.1A at 15V, but it's more parts intensive to build, so I didn't. I think though that hte MAX762 IC will at least give you your 14V (Or, as the case may be, 15V. The output is adjustable, but the typical operating curcuit will give the preset 15V. You might want to look into the MAX762 IC as well, as that (I believe) has a better drive MOSFET for higher current.

Maybe this will help.

There is one way to do this. It quick and dirty. Use a power inverter to get 110v ac then use an adjustable ac to dc converter(power supply)... like i said its not elegant, its quick and dirty.
