I powered it up and it has good color but has static in the picture? any info would help also lucked out and found a qa 2500 for 30 dollars!!

could it be the power supply that makes it look staticy? I had a sharp 1200 and don't remember it having static?

The PSU can do that. So can a poor quality signal cable. I see that kind of stuff in VGA connections with the cheap cabling in high EMI locations all the time.
