blink.gif Never thought I'd be working with the ole beastie again but my "Projector v1.5" is now complete.

I did have a Dukane 653 Overhead Projector retro fitted with a 15'' LCD Monitor.

Projector v1

The problem was the monitor was bigger than the actual projector lid and wasn't exactly user friendly when it came to what it supported dry.gif so...I decided to try to go with a 15.4 WUXGA setup. Once I realized that I was never going to finish that thing and I already lost money on it, I sold off most of my components and went back to my OHP Projector.

This time, I went with a 10.5'' XGA Monitor with VGA (RGB), S-Video, Composite and Coax hook ups plus a remote which is sweet!

Here is a picture of what I'd like to call "the monitor module."

The whole piece slides into place and it will not move. I made it like this so that if I have to change the bulb (this is all stock), all I have to do is slide out this module, change the bulb and slide it back into place.

...and now, pictures!

These pictures don't do this thing justice!!! - Pictures using RCA Video - XBox 360

Pre-Tweak - It's not scaled on the whole screen yet....

Need for Speed: Pro Street

Soul Caliber IV

Post Tweak - Projected on a 100'' Screen FULL btw

Sailor Moon Super S Special: Ami's First Love

...crap, I forgot the Leeloo picture! I'll get that soon guys once I hook up my PC to test out my "HD TV" Setup.

Hope you guys enjoy!

Looks nice. Is the light leak bad, or do you plan on covering the area from the lcd to the lens/mirror.

Well it's not that bad actually but it would help. I do plan on putting a fan blowing over the LCD using the 12v input that was originally used for the back light.

I think my problem is that my camera can't really get focused since it's not a "true" light source.

laugh.gif Still, it works good for what I wanted! I'll take more screenies soon. About to move my PC into the garage where the projector is so I can really test this baby.

More Screenies (I'm sorry about the pictures. My camera and I aren't cooperating....any suggestions on how to make better pics?)

Thanks Quasi! I'm surprised I never saw this tips thread but I'll definitely try it out come Super Bowl time....or earlier if I can find some more time to tweak the HD side of things. wink.gif
