Hey all, I have almost completed my average 15" screen, now I'm working on my 10.6" biggrin.gif

I plan to make this as perfect as possible, i would like to keep the design sizes to an absolute minimum, I am currently designing my box in sketch up and I would like to know what the viewing area dimensions are, I know that the size of the bare panel is 239mm x 146mm

I will be starting to show myself a bit more on the forum... I admit I just want to read up of the information here, most of the time my answers are hidden in nearby thread so there's no need for me to post. I will be putting together sections of the projector together in sketch up and would like to get your opinions and suggestions as well as your approval on my calculations...I'm not much of a maths person

anyway thanks, look forward to some responses smile.gif

244mm x 152mm

EDIT: whoa... that can't be right, gimme a sec with a ruler

EDIT 2: 230mm x 137mm. I think those other measurements I had written down must have been the glass area.

cool thanks heaps for that smile.gif

are the measurements dead centre (relative to the panel)? because i would think the distance from the edge with the pcb would be slightly longer than the top ?

No they are not. I can't measure the differing border widths because my setup involves an oversized frame with a hole in it the exact size of the active LCD area. I position the LCD on it correctly so that the active area shows through, then fasten it down (carefully). I take it you don't have the LCD yet.

your on the ball my friend...i didn't quite think to adjust the board to dead centre relative to the display...at the moment i'm just designing around those measurement pics in that thread

btw what is the orientation of the panel? PCB lies below the panel with components facing towards the lens? or the light?
