Some crazy deep sea critter? Well, I know it does strikingly resemble SIM but I won't mention that. rolleyes.gif

Edit: It soooooo looks like a gelatinous Kilroy!!! laugh.gif
JPD
I got it. It's a Vogon. These are the creatures who destroyed the earth in order to make way for an interplanitary bypass 'Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy" . Generally known for their officiousness, bad poetry and a general nasty dispositions.

It might also be some sort of cryptic angler fish or frog fish.

WOW.....I'd expect just a weird form of lobster and your right about the coconut part. It's actually the largest hermit crab of it's kind minus a shell for it's home. And it does live off the land and not in the ocean. It feeds off of coconuts and actually husk and cracks the nut with it's claws, now thats POWER!! Where I come from they are called AZUZU, if spelled correctly.

Your getting close. it is a deep sea fish but not a cryptic angler fish or frog fish. as far as i know anyway wink.gif . its name is extremely unimaginative but very accurate. just think of classic horror movies....

Ok ok i just had to add this link i just found . this isn't related to the first fish in anyway exept for the fact that is scares the crap outta me. this fish give a new meaning to the phrase "i see what your thinking"

When you said it had an accurate name I thought it looked like a blob. Sure enough, it's a blob fish. Probably distantly related to the above mentioned Vogon.

Saiga Antelope
I sort of recognize the black and white. It LOOKS like a Tasmanian Wolf ( which wasnt a wolf or dog at all...)
Curious about that one.

Right on both accounts. Now how about the others?
Quasi_Mojo

Point Arena Mountain Beaver

I think this is an Okapi, related to the giraffe family.

Tasmanian Tigers. Extinct - The last one died in captivity in 1936.

I'm thinking this is a Coatimundi - a member of the raccoon family.

Right on all accounts. Just one note: The last is a coati. The term coatimundi is used only for the males. I can't quite make out whether this one has hanger bearings or not.

A photoshop fake. In relativistic biology, there is no need for whiskers that long. But this is an exceptional fish. Its called a Dragon King Fish.
No scales and no teeth, its a bottom feeder and they say they only see them just before earthquakes...Like JPD said.

Nope, I got YOU! tongue.gif

King Dragon Fish IS Regalecus glesne ! wink.gif

It goes by about 50 different names and has been sighted all over the world. One of it's most common names is "King of the Herring".
In certain parts of Asia, a herring is a Dragon fish.

Your original quest was for the truly scientific name...which I gave you.
...and your source is questionable...some crazy Herring lover could be spreading lies and deceptions!

Wikipedia indeed... tongue.gif
