I have started this project by stripping the lcd of a laptop down and gotten to the point that I have now wired the lcd control boards to each other. Unfortunately I had to solder the connection by hand. I am about to buy the optics to put the projector together however I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for finding smaller fresnel lenses as the lcd size is only 12 inches

Ok i was completely wrong the lcd size is 14 in I was wondering about purchasing the 15 in fresnel lenses and I was wondering if there were any issues with using a lens that is larger than the screen. I would be surprised to find that there is but I don't know the first thing about optics. Anyone got any advice, I am trying to order the fresnels and lens triplet today.

No problem at all, the lens can/should be a bit bigger than the lcd anyway.

It has been a really long time since i have been able to work on the projector but I just started back up again and I drew out the plans for the box I am going to cut with a CNC. I just have one quick question what is the correct lcd positioning I saw a nice drawing on here a while ago but after searching i have not been able to find it again the plans i am working on are below. I am going to alter it so that the ballast is positioned outside of the box as well
