I am going to need a long hdmi cable (~50ft) to get from my av receiver to my projector. I have been told that I need an equalizer, which apparently is a signal booster. I am going to have all my av equipment plugged into my av receiver and a non-powered splitter on the output of the receiver. One side will go to the tv, the other side will go to the equalizer and then the projector.

My research shows that this should work but I'm worried I might be missing something. Any advice or shared experience would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey,

If you need a long distance for your HDMI signal, I think there are two things to do. You can go wireless, or switch over to fiber optics. If you use google on this, you find lots of options on fiber and wireless.

I included a few examples for you.

Hope this will get you started.

Is wireless or fiber op going to work so much better than the hdmi + booster to make it worth the trouble?

Edit: Just to clarify, what I meant by trouble was $$$$

I'm not sure the HDMI booster will do any good to the signal. I never used it myself, but a friend of mine uses a transfer to fiber optic, and then back to HDMI, on his commercial FullHD projector. And the image is cristal sharp.
