Hi again,
Thanks to the board, I've successfully removed the Antiglare, and 2 other layers earlier. But after i removed the AG (water soak method), I noticed that my LCD is now 'incomplete' when it displays. I get only a 1/3 of horizontal area of viewable section. The middle section works when I press onto the FFC (the plactic connector at the side of the LCD, 3 pieces in total) , BUT the 3rd section of the screen (when lcd is split into 3 sections) is stll zip. I only get lines on it!

Can anyone help PLEASE? I am really troubled by it as I thought the removal would be simple. (actually it was).

But now , it doesn't fullly work!

Help!

either you have a damaged FFC in which case theres not much you can do (unless its an extension in which case you can but a new one) or the FFC is not in the connector properly

I believe the 3 FFC's he is referring to are the ones on the side of the panel that connect directly into the glass substrate without any connectors at all.
Those are tab drivers, and their circuits are completely through the glass, not via an external connection at all.
If one of those is damaged in some way, then that part of the screen will not display correctly or not at all.

Are you sure you allowed the panel and everythign to dry completely?
If there was any moisture on it, that may have caused the tab driver chip to go bad, or the FFC itself for that third one is damaged.
The fact that you have to press on the second one to make that portion of the screen work makes me believe that both the second and third ones may have damaged FFC connections to the glass.
If that is the case, there is not likely any fix beyond replacing the panel, and, not doing an AG removal next time.

fmerrill, you're right. Its the 3 plastic tabs on the side of the panel. So is my panel really, really dead? sad.gif
I left it overnight before reinstalling it, and am sure it would have already dried by then. I guess it wasn't caused by water..? could it be something else?

Could it be salvaged by an expert?

Actually the removal of AG really did wonders for it (fr what i can 'see'), and it did remove the bright spot, i think.

anyway does anybody know what other panels is compatible with my MST controller?

THANKS!
