Ok well I have a Viewsonic PJ658 which I got free from a sweepstakes. I am looking to build my own projector, probably a 1080p projector but I was wondering if I could use and parts from the projector, such as the lamp or lens? Any suggestions will help.

Thanks

Short answer... No and you wouldn't want to. unless you have a screen of the exact measurements for the lens. The bulbs are too expensive to replace. Which basically sums it up to being not very economical.
