Good-day to all builders:

So....I have built a standard straight through S15 design using a BENQ FP 557s 15" LCD monitor, standard ballast and T15 MH bulb. I like it....it's good, but I want better resolution ! I want to use the same box I've got (max. internal dimension for a screen is 10" X 13") with a new LCD screen. I would prefer to go with a standard off the shelf 17" monitor screen (readily available and inexpensive) but off course not sure if it will fit.

Any other ideas to do this somewhat inexpensively (under $200.00) ?

Thanks all....

michaela
hi, not sure how helpful this is, but according to supras screen dimension calculator http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26393

your typical 17" is a 5:4 aspect ratio

which calculates to the dimensions being 13.27" x 10.26"

that may not be quite accurate and you need to allow for the frames to go on as well as you know

I am new here, so wait till one of the pro's come on, they may have a better idea for you
