ok so i have 3 of the same lcd, 2 to practice with and one not torn down yet, one side has a polarizer one has ag and polarizer, i just tried this today and it werked perfectly in about 4 hours. SO LISTEN UP!

panel: samsung 512n- easy to strip

so i took some paper towel and soaked it generously in generic GLASS CLEANER(windex) set the towels on top of the panel evenly and all the way to the edges, placed it between two boards and put about 25 pounds of weight on it, exactly 4 hours later i was literally able to peel it right off the lcd with 0 effort and no glue remained : )

The caveat to that being that you'll want to check back in a month to see if the solvents in that glass cleaner did any damage to the polariser, particularly after the LCD has been through a few heat cycles with the projector. Many people have seen that the polarising layer on the LCD starts to become damaged over time.

For my Samsung panel, I did about the same thing, but used distilled water, and no boards or weight. So far, my polariser is fine.

Glass cleaner is not a wise thing to apply to an LCD. The ammonia may react badly with the PVC polariser.
