Hello. I am new to these forums and also new to the idea of building a projector. For days I've been searching a way to cut costs and have stumbled upon this Osram led. On Digikey the price is currently $43. But if I purchase this I will not have to spend money on a ballast which costs more. Here is the link to the projection led.

I want to know if it is possible to use this led to project through a 10.9" panel. My build consists of two 300mm Fresnel lenses. This led has a wide angle distribution so maybe I won't need to use the collimater fresnel if I could just mount this close to the lcd. Heat shouldn't be an issue mounting so close when I will have two 120mm fans blowing over the lcd and led. Also how much lumens should I expect out of this? and will it provide a bright enough picture in a usually dark room?

I looked at digikey and used the candela to lumens calculator and this it what it said.

180000 millicandelas at a 130 degree viewing angle is equivalent to 653.03 lumens

Is this possible?
