sorry- i am reposting this as I think this may be a more accurate place for my Q.

So here I am sat with my mockup enclosure. It is going to be a wuxga 15.4 lcd with pro fresnels and a 500mm FL triplet unsplit design...or it was until I saw the size of the box for real. It is too big!! I would consider a vertical/folded design but dont really want to be messing around with mirrors and do not want to jeprodize ANY image quality.

Is this the best way to go or should I get the standard LL triplet. My throw distance is around 9.5ft and screen size is about 75in diagonal. What is my best option for an optimal image, while getting this enclosrue small enought to fit in my house. Will I loose image quality with the stadard triplet lens? So this is why ppl say plan before you buy!

Thanks so much

The pro lens in my opinion has much more benefits then a standard lens especially when dealing with larger LCD panels like 15" and above. Unfortunately, when DIY’in a pj the size of the project can’t be overcome unless you lower the size of the panel LCD and utilize the standard instead in order to maintain the quality image you seek. Based on the size of projected distance, perhaps you should consider a 10.6” panel or the 12” with a standard lens.
