Probably I am doing a stupid questions, but I am a newbie.

So, simple and clear:

-Can I upgrade "software" (firmware, file panel instructions or dunno what...) of a LCD controller board in order to achieve compatibility with a LCD display?

I know that CRTtoLCD boards from kontron are upgradable (the right file panel for the right LCD screen...). It's the same for the other controller vendor's?
