Hi, i am having a problem with a LCD where the circuit board is directly behind the LCD screen after the ffc's have been connected into the driver boards. I cannot get a picture but the FFC cable is 0.5mm and is 1 cm wide. I need a ffc extender but lumenlabs is in the USA. I think digikey is in the UK and would like to know if they have a 0.5mm ffc and a zip connector that is suitable for my project. I have looked but im not too sure i understand it fully.

If you CANNOT get a picture a FFC will not help. I hope you meant you CAN get a picture.

I managed to get some pictures.

The LCD screen is under the cloth to protect it. The controller board is on top of the cloth. I need a ffc extender to extend the ffc. So all i would need is a ffc with 0.5mm pitch and a zip connecter to tie the ffc on the controller board to the extension ffc. I know there is a ffc extender on lumen lab but i would prefere a company in the UK to buy from. I found digikey but i dont know what i am buying from them as their products are coded.

This aint too good, digikey is a US based firm and ships from USA. Does anyone know of any uk based firms which sell ffc and zif connector?

I;ve found this uk site. Specifications of the ffc and the connectors are quite complex. Can anyone help me decide which one is the right one?

These are the connectors

This had me laughing.
sdubb was asking you if the LCD works as-is. Does it turn on and off? Do you see anything on the screen when it's turned on?
If it doesn't work as-is, getting a FFC extension won't help.

To determine which FFC you should buy: http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?s...st&p=292330
Where to buy suggestions - Google search: +FFC +cable +UK

When you find a location that sells the FFC cable you're looking for, you can call and ask them what the correct connector should be.
