I am a admitted Halloween freak and just ran across the halloweenforum.com a few days back and have been like a kid in a candy store.

One of the things I have heard of but never seen before is a DVD called Scream TV that is for playing on your TV during halloween parties/ making props/optical illutions etc.... I was planning on using my bedroom projector to project this movie onto my bedroom window (onto thin drafting vellum) to compliment all the dead things out in my front yard.
I started a thread asking if anyone had any good idea besides "Scream TV" and one of the members turned me on to THIS!

Nothing is available to the unwashed masses until early next month but this is on the top of my "buy list"

My wife's birthday is Devil's Night and mine is Halloween so we've always been rather intrigued with the Halloween season. I'll have to show this to her. It is VERY cool. (And will prolly scare the crap outta my kid.)

Kids already cross the street to avoid my yard, now they might have to avoid my block.

We should see if we can get a discount on a group buy....

I used the Scream tv disc last year (with my Infocus/Insignia pj) and projected it against home depot white painting sheets sliced into sheets. Looked pretty good



Am looking forward to this dvd when it comes out this month ($30 can)

Victor Victor Victor....tsk tsk tsk......I saw your posts on the Halloween forum from a while back in the very thread of the DVD (Hallowindow) I am promoting (not for any gain mind you, I am just excited about the product).....why didn't you post about it here?
I noticed you posted links to ::cough cough:::: some other forum.....oh the shame.

For the time being, you can do a Google search for: halloween flash animation
Once you find how to download the .swf file, you can play them, full screen, through your HTPC.

Okay, who else after seeing that video immediately started planning how to set something like that up at their house?

I already tested it with my 7" tower in my bedroom window (with Mr. Mom...don't ask).....I might have to shut off my front room and bring big bertha up from the basement to use my picture window.

That is too cool Too bad I live in an apartment right now and don't really have windows that can be seen from the road. Still pretty neat. I'm sure you could put together a compilation of free flash animations and videos off of the internet

If this helps, there are a couple free softwares out there you can use to record stuff and save to video. Two that come to mind are http://www.fraps.com and http://www.snagit.com

In my area, I don't have TOT's because of our gate, so instead I host an annual halloween party at my house. This year I went reverse projection, using my trusty infocus moviemate (that pj is so handy for moments like this!). i mounted that projector outside on my front lawn and another $30 3m LCD projector I got at garage sale in my back yard. I trimmed off the walmart shower curtain and taped them to the outside windows. The hallowindow actually has a clip for projectors that can't do image flip (like our diys) so i used that along my big scream/terroreyes/scarols. Here's the end result

I didn't need to turn down any light and as you can see, even a low powered light source like my infocus can easily handle this.

Perhaps not as great as Victor-eyed's Hallowindow but the 3d screensaver I used proved useful. Check it.

I pulled out an eVo, and projected The Nightmare Before Christmas on the wall across from my place. It did a bit better than the documented max projection size of 150", I estimate about 175. (It was right up against the focusing limit, and the focus was a little soft, not quite enough to eliminate screendoor though.)

After the little kids were done, I put on a Harry Potter movie.

We didn't get many trick-or-treaters, but the ones we got stuck around for a while.
