i bought a 3m 9700 for 20 bucks can this be modded with a 250 watt metal halide?

Honestly, probably not, unless there is a mirror in the center of your ohp. because you have to put your new light source in the exact heght and center of your old lamp light arc (the little squiggly thing in the center of your bulb) most ohp lamps are barely a 1/4 inch off of the bottom of the ohp. I dotn know why people are so scared of the low bulb life on ohp lamps. because you can buy them in bulk and in a clear color, and save yourself TONS of hassle. just ask some of the more recent ohp retrofiters and checks out there plogs because they seem to end up similar.
