Technically 108i is 1920x1080 at 30hz.

But I don't know why you would want to display 1080i, most T.V's that say 720p or 1080i are technically 720p T.V's.
So 1280x720 will work better.

Most of the new HD devices are petty sophisticated and will upscale and down scale as needed, but it's best to send them what they support natively and avoid the extra processing. This is particularly true if you have a slower graphics card.

HD DVD (upscales/downscales) -> PC (upscales/downscales) -> Video Card (upscales/downscales) -> HD TV (upscales/downscales)

At a certain point it gets rather silly.

Im not sure if that converter up and downscales it as needed, so i want to make sure, so 1920x1080 is the right setting? My tv is 120hz

What TV do you have ?

I guess I only thought 1080p LCD/Plasma TV's were using 120Hz tech. This would mean you want a 1080p output from the PC, so you would want something with a DVI/HDMI or VGA connection that handles 1080p. 1080p on component doesn't seem well supported.

I know for ATI cards, you must add TV resolutions in the Cataylst software, then you can select the 1080i standard for displaying a 1080i component output from the PC...
