Hello All,
I finally dumped the Torpedo to get a Litepro 570, what a better choice; built heavier, brighter and better resolution.

My question is for this bad boy, it has four sources to choose from. The second source has a VGA input for 640x480 resolution, however there is a SOURCE 1 input that says COMPUTER and the jack is much larger (it has about 26 pins) its not a DVI input or those inputs used on the older apple computers. Its strange and its SUPPOSED to support 800x600 resolution but the VGA input only goes up to 640x480 with a weird 75 hert frequency.

Any suggestions on what this input is or where to convert it to a computer VGA or DVI?

Thank you very much Mojo, sorry for the belated response.

I also have one last question which was not on the user guide. I really want to open this giant and clean it up, there's a lot of built up dust from over the years that is obstructing the viewing (I may also replace the LCD, I have a 7 inch LCD 640x480 panel that is clearer than the infocus).

I looked around the forums and I really couldn't find much.

So whats your question?? Are you wanting to know how to open it up? If you are then all you have to do is remove the rubber ring on the lens. Then there are two screw in the back one where the remote would sit and another on the other side. Once those to screws are out just lift the back off and slide it toward the front. I learned this from greymalkin. post-418-1138467278.gif Once you get it open you will see its easy to clean spray if with some canned air. How much did the torpedo cost and was it that bad? Also how much did you get the litepro for?

Haha! sorry, yes, just wanting to know how to open it up, thank you very much for the post!
The Torpedo was horrendously poor. It produced about 120 lumens and the resolution was just horrible. Instead of producing square pixels for the red, blue and green channels, the torpedo displayed round, ping-pong balls that just looked odd. The Torpedo cost me about $180 on etoys/kbtoys.com it was a little too expensive for what it could do, it was cheaper, I would have kept it and modded it a bit because its REALLY simple to work with and toy around with, first thing that would have gone was the LCD. In all I liked it for how light and small it was and how simple it was to work with, I disliked it for everything else.

WOW It produced 120 lumens thats what we are getting with our 400 watt HM bulbs. I think you might be off. Anyway, MAN that torpedo is expensive. I am glad you are liking your litepro I like mine how it is but the 50HR bulb is a joke. I can live with the resolution. So did you get it open?

Oh, then it must not be 120 lumens, someone must not have the right measurement (I checked it online), I also thought it was less than that, like possibly 80 lumens or 60...it's hard to say. It also has virtually no contrast ratio. Yes, I got the projector open and man did it need a good cleaning, it made a massive difference in the video quality! it's much brighter than it used to be. Thank you!
