Hello.
I have a very old slide projector and have been thinking would it be possible to change the lamp fro led? The diameter of the lens after the light source is about 5 cm. Is there so powerful led available nowadays that could be used in this kind of situation? I mean only one big led that has reflective surface behind it...Would this work?

I would like to run it with 12 V. Or do I need led array?

By the way, what is the most powerful led available today? What kind of leds are used in commercial led projetors?

Thanks!

You coud use cree power led i have hmmm cree q4 (216lm at 1000mA) , i use optics about 20degrees , i have build portable projector ...well take a look .

and this one on the building
and one more time

To power led you need some driver with gives you 3,6v and 350mA-1000mA (higher =lighter) , use only cold Led about 5000K and more, warm leds are not so good .
