Hey, was wondering if anyone has tried a 300 or 500 watt halogen light , like one of those square lights with the halogen tube like you use on a stand. It is self contained with glass over the front and has its own reflector, maybe it would be too hot?

Does anyone know what kind of bulb slide projectors use? I have 2 used ones i picked up fliek 2 bucks a piece, One of them as a 500 watt bulb but i am not sure what kind. It defiently puts out the heat of a halogen but has a MUCH MUCH higher color temp (or so it seems, its really white). Ive mounted a 2.8 inch lcd in it and i get a really really bright image! Much brighter then i need considering i wont go bigger then 40-50 inches (any bigger and the pixels are noticealbe)

Have a look at the lamp, it should have a model number. Don't touch it with bare hands.
