HI, new here,
bought the plans and such, anyone know of a particular brand monitior that will for sure work? Id hate to buy the wrong one .
I didn't see a list here as the pdf file had suggested.

Once that is done, I was going to just incorporate a tv to pc adaptor in the projector.
thanks

look around .... grab a soft drink, and probably a pillow for your ass if you chair isnt comfortable enough cause you got alot of reading to do ......

Im new too, bought the plans about a week ago, and every night I have been reading my ass off after I do my engineering homework ....

in any event ..... there are threads that list the compatible and non compatible monitors ..... and some untested monitors ....

theoretically any monitor will work, in terms of passing light through it and projecting it .....

the problem with some monitors is that they come with some connectors (called FFCs), which are flat flexible cables (usually multipinned @ 20 pins or so). They can sometimes come really really short, and thus you wont be able to strip away the components (PCB boards) from the LCD screen far enough. You can always extend the FFC but sometimes it can be hard to track down the proper extension needed .....

in short, your better off buying a monitor from the compatible list, or buying a monitor that someone else here has found a fix for and has part numbers ready for you .....

Thanx so much for the reply, Ill have to find a list. It was just a bit um,,shall I say misleading to read the pdf file telling to look at the list on this site, and come here and find no list per say.
Oh well. I'll start one some year maybe. I wonder how they look in a regular living area in the day time? Or if you can see them at all.
Hmmm
thanks

cccrum has given you the link to the Compatible Monitors thread, but it is in the customer-only section. Since the .pdf is easily pirated, the important build-information is relegated to paid-customer-only sections of this website. (You may have notice the "Protected forum- buy guide for access" labels on a few forums)

You're still listed as a "member" and not a "customer". Upon payment, you should have recieved a password and instructions on how to register as a Customer. Finish the registration process, as your "welcome" email should have explained it, and you will be able to gain access to the protected forums.

If you did not recieve your password, contact: sales@lumenlab.com , they will most likely verify that you are, in fact a paid customer, then re-send your email.

Welcome aboard!

I am in deed a paying customer
thanks

the reason that it does not show me as a customer is because like everything else , it isnt working with my code.
thanks

Hmm, that sucks!

Best I advice I can give you is write to sales@lumenlab.com, they'll take care of you.

Hope you get it straightened out, hope to see you building-away soon!

Take care,

fly!

[edit]Hmmm, you must have gotten it working, as I see you are now listed as "customer". Sweet! wink.gif [/edit]

Hey guys and gals, I'm new to all this and wanted to know if anyone has taken the Sharp LL-T1501 apart and if there are any issues with it. I found a great deal on one in an auction and it will be sent shortly. Just curious if you could possibly give me an idea of any problems to look out for. I didn't find it on the Good or Bad monitor list so I'm playing a little roulette...

Thanks! This site is great! biggrin.gif

Hi tuxedo, hopefully someone has used it but I don't remember seeing it. If you decide to try it, please report back so we can add it to our database.
