Full Version: Do I need a new bulb (Evo 1.2) for European 220V electricity

Okay, here's the deal, I have an evo 1.2 I bought about a year ago. Love it and am taking it with me when I move to Israel. I have yet to replace the bulb but wanted to know if I need a new one there? I know regular table lamps require a 220V bulb (but no transformer), but not clear on projectors. I don't know if the internals work that way or not. I do know the projector itself says it's rated for 100-240V and 50/60Hz, but I don't know if the bulb is an issue or not in the thing.

Any help appreciated. Also, does anyone know what specific type I should be asking for? Thanks.

No, it's the ballast that takes the power, but I don't know if you can just directly plug it in. The lamp itself will be identical.

I don't know if the eVo can be directly plugged into 220V power, I'd have to look at mine to see.

Thank you. You've put my mind at ease. In regards to the issue of 220V power, it says:

AC 100-240V 50/60Hz so that shouldn't be a problem. I'd just hate to bring it with me, plug it in and have the go poof inside of it, especially since I'm not sure where to get replacements there.

Thanks again.
