I'm looking for a cheap way to get TV to my projector (720p) I know my standard cable is non HD, but that I could get OTA that would, so I'm trying to find the cheapest way to get both and run them to my projector via something other than composite. Have an old VCR doing that now, and picture is soo bad. Any suggestions? Was looking at DVR with tuners(need a DVD player too) but was told that just because its ATSC doesn't mean its HD?

You can also get a Samsung TS-360 satellite tuner off of ebay for $30 - $40. It will accept analog cable, analog over the air, and digital over the air (SD and HD). It has svideo, composite, component inputs. I have 2 of them and use them on my projector and HD rear projection tv. I use it as a video switchbox and of course to bring in the HD OTA channels. I run VGA to the projector (component gives jaggies.. I have the sharpness set to max on the projector) and component to the rear projection. It has composite, svideo, component, VGA, and DVI output. If you get one, you need the direct tv card for boot up. You can borrow a neighbor's, boot it up, and remove it and it will work as long as the unit doesn't lose power. The only thing it's missing for me is a QAM tuner.

I don't see that it has a ATSC tuner, only NTSC, looks to be up-converting regular TV
to higher resolutions, early next year its not going to work

I can confirm this and this might work for you

http://search.ebay.com/samsung-ts-360_W0QQ...sungQ20tsQ20360

it says it doesnt power on but from my experience you just leave it plugged in over night and should come back to life but dont take my word for it it just worked for me twice smile.gif

I have 2 similar models that are posted in the trading post but seem to have disappeared since it was posted long ago smile.gif
