Hello all,

I am in the process of building a projector, and I have disassembled a 12" 800*600 LCD (perfect size for my overhead).

My problem is that I need an extender cable to flip the circuitry out of the way, and I can't identify the connector type on the pcb.
I'll need a male to female extender cable... The connector is 20 pin, the male end extends up off the board about 4mm, pictures are attached.

If anyone knows what kind of connector this is, and if so, where to order an extender, I would be eternally grateful.

Pictures are attached, my apologies for the poor focus.

Thank you all.

Hmm. My 15 incher has a connection like that, and i haven't found a way around it. I ended up building a lego extension table off of my overhead to accommodate the controller board...

Sorry for the bad news sad.gif

Is this close to what it looks like?

Not sure if the link sells them but if you can find what they are called then Digikey/mouser should be able to help you out.

I had this on a 13.3" XGA lcd as well. I never found a solution to it either. If you do find one, be sure to post your fix for everyone to see.

Thanks all, no luck so far, I cant seem to get the link above to load.

I'm going to try posing on some more forums, even the EE guys at work haven't seen the connector before.

I think its a smt variant, but like i said, I cant figure out the exact model or even specific type.

If anyone has any ideas, feel free to share.

Thanks

I guess that site won't allow direct linking, follow the link then highlight the CONNECTOR tab, then highlight BOARD-BOARD and click OVERVIEW.

It should pull up a list of connectors with pics, from there hopefully you will be able to find one that looks like yours. Once you know the connector type you can start looking for a cable.

I'm thinking it may be one of the MDC-type connector, but its hard to tell from the pics.

I wonder if this link will work.

Yep. wink.gif

Looks like a winner. Being only 0.8mm pitch it shouldn’t be too difficult to soder smile.gif wires to a male and female connector.
