Well, happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there. (I guess it's still the third if you're in the Pacific timezone though.)

Drink beer, watch fireworks, and relax for the long weekend!

ohh God, I'm so full of food right now! It's heaven!

Now to get drunk (and not drive) get all on the couch, and watch Will Smith kill aliens and yell "AW HELL NAW!"

Last night was the first time my 3 year old niece was excited to see the "big" fireworks. "Grandma and "Grandpa's" house overlooks the city so we can see the fireworks just hanging out on the deck. Ri's sitting on my lap and her Mom asks her what fireworks were made of, "Pixie glass." I liked that, but somehow we got on the topic of what fireworks are made of when Tinkerbell is unavailable and when I got to sulphur, Ri shouts out quivering with excitement, "I LOVE SULPHUR!"

I had to press my forehead into her back to keep from laughing (she'll get offended if she doesn't know she's made a joke and someone laughs). After I get control of myself, wipe the tears, I say, "Yeah, Ri, I love sulphur, too."

My Oldest decided to wander with the pack this year so it was me and my wife and my youngest. We picked a spot up on the hill UNDER where the fireworks were aimed and laid on a blanket. This year they went for low altitude stuff. I swear we could not have been closer if we used a telescope. We even saw some of the long streamers hit ground around us. Meanwhile I bored my daughter with the history of fireworks. Then she ran into a friend who joined us and there was nothing but giggles to be had from there on in.

As an added bonus, the finale cleared out the water in my ear! Bonus! wink.gif

Happy Fourth All!
