My wife just called to inform me that my 22mo. old somehow got his hands on one of the permanant markers I use on burned CD's.
He of course drew all over my desk, computer, & moved over to the TV.
She used a clorox bleach wipe to clean the TV so we are good there.

I had her turn on my PC to see if he got the LCD panel.
Of course he did.

Wouldn't be a proper running amok with a marker if he hadn't. dry.gif

She wanted to try & remove it with a clorox bleach wipe & I told not to go near it with one of those until I do some research.

So, naturally I ask you guys because I really can't think of a better place to get the right information.

I was thinking maybe toothpaste but i'd probably have to do the whole panel right?

I’d stay away from the bleach. Try Isopropylene alcohol or mentholated spirits. Test a small section first with a Qtip.

Try toothpaste or maybe a dry erase marker!

There is a product called Goof-Off which MAY do the trick. I have heard that those "magic erasers" can do the job, but my friend Ray used a regular pencil eraser. He said it came off pretty quickly. Start with the simple stuff and then work your way to more agressive solutions.

There is also a product called goo-gone that i have been using for years for sticky situations. It's cleaning power comes from highly acidic concentrations of citrus. seriously it reeks of oranges for days when you use it and it's powerful. 2 cents <----------

OK.
I went home on my lunch & tried toothpaste & a soft toothbrush with a little bit of water.
It worked!
I went slow & gentle & it eventually came up.
Plus, my computer room smells minty fresh.

BTDT. My (now 7 year old) daughter did something similar. Living room wall. TV. Entertainment unit. Hardwood floor. computer monitor. Several DVDs. Client information binders. The cat. Herself. The bathroom mirror. The laundry.

Various and sundry cleaners, solvents, abrasive agents, polishes, and in some cases, primer/sealer and a new coat of paint later, and we managed to get it all stratghtened out. I also keep the only permanent markers in the house under lock and key. All of the rest of them are 'washable'

Glad it worked for you!

They need to update the list so that it now reads 26 27 Other Things You Can Do With Toothpaste

My ten year old did something similar when she was four. "Shears" are only now making a casual comeback in the house...

Lets put it this way.
He's 3 ft tall but that isn't tall enough to reach where I kept my markers by just standing on my chair.
He had to be on my desk.

I never imagined he would climb that high.
lesson learned.

I can't get a gate for the room because the entrance is 8 ft wide, and because he can now climb over the baby gates I put up with ease.

Too bad they don't make an invisible fence for toddlers. laugh.gif

I feel a DIY project coming on! Shouldn't be too hard to retrofit.. laugh.gif

I had a couple word documents opened up with a business card template I was making and when I came home from work several spaces in the card template where a picture used to be were replaced by random letters and numbers. My two year old son must have climbed in the chair and "edited" them. Although based on the way he made the changes I'm almost positive he had to use both the keyboard and mouse. I was proud of the little guy smile.gif.
