Ok so I pulled the top layer off the front of my practice LCD.
It came off pretty easy after a 12 hour soak.
This one wasn't AG though, I don't think, it was stiff and glossy.

After I got that off I noticed another layer starting to come off.
But it was tinted, isn't tinted the Polarizer?

Tinted=Polar Bear?!?!? ohnoes.gif
Is this bad?

Thanks

That first layer is the AG it should be a milky white, someone correct me if im wrong since i have never removed an AG layer.

For the second layer, yes, that's the polariser. If you remove that, you'll get a lot more light through the panel. No PICTURE, but a lot more light. wink.gif Not recommended.

The first layer that you peeled, was the outside textured at all? If the outside is glossy smooth, then you shouldn't have peeled it either, though it doesn't hurt.

The inside will be smooth, since that's what the AG looks like.

Antiglare has a distinct MATTE appearance. If your panel is GLOSSY then don't strip it.

Here's a pic of my antiglare.

Also, just look askance at your panel at something reflecting on its surface. If the reflection is "clean" like a mirror then the surface ain't antiglare. If the reflection is a bit fuzzy then it's antiglare.

Where can I buy a replacement polar for a 13" lcd? I mistakenly removed the thick polarizer and AG. I didn't find this forum until it was too late. I have heard about 3dlens.com but wanted to try and find it in the US due to wanting it to arrive in a week or so.

Thanks,

Randy
