Hi,

Suddenly my son came to me (6th grader) and asked to help him to prepare a chart with pictures on a topic of
" Malnutrition in India" which he was suppose to submit for his school project the same day.
And the picture is to be hand drawn no computer printout is allowed !

I was caught ! ohnoes.gif How I am going draw a good looking picture maintaining the picture ratio etc.. ??

The DIY Projector was in front of me wink.gif , which gave me a Idea (later I searched lumenlab forum of similar useage of the projector, but I failed to find one)

Why can't I project the required image (small enough) on to a paper pasted on a wall and then trace it out with pencil to get a basic layout good enough to paint later.

A quick googling got the required picture with information on the topic.Put that jpg on the laptop and connect it to my 10.6"DIY projector.

I pulled the projector to 59inches near to the pasted paper and
I got a good sharp picture of approx. 1 foot.

Then we quickly traced out the picture with the pencil, voila ! we
got good pencil drawing with exact ratio etc.. (which is impossible to draw otherwise maintaing the ratio etc.. unless you are a good skilled drawing master !).

Then we quickly painted it also with water color (with what ever painting skills we have) to match the orginal picture.

And the chart was ready in 30 min time !

He (my son) is out to school with that chart.

One side this method looks like cheating the very purpose of
children learning the drawing skills, but otherside it also shows a "smart" (quick and dirty) way to overcome shorter (hasty) schedules nowadays given by schools to the students on such drawing projects !

Anyway I thougth it might help the forum members.
Sorry if it looks dumb (so simple and silly) idea. But it worked !

Compare the color also ! (the water coloring was not so good, but no much time to spend on proper coloring).Click to view attachment

Only thing is during pencil drawing neither move the paper nor the projector , if moved during half drawn situation aligning back might be bit difficult.

Anyone see the irony in this? Most people take an OHP and turn it into a diy pj, here we have a diy pj turned into an OHP biggrin.gif

great idea
