hello guys!i have an old ipaq 3850 and i was wondering if i could use it for a diy projector.now there are more problems:
1.the lcd screen is diy friendly,i mean can the backlight be removed without damaging the screen?i know the ribbon cables are short ,but i can manage this
2.how can i put the fresnels in order to let me use my stylus pen after that?
the lcd screen is 3,5 inch i thing and it has 240x320.that,s enough for me as i can watch movies in wmw and avi format.they play very well.

best guess - you use it in a pj, odds are you wont be able to access it and if you could I dont see it being practical at all.

Using it for a projector LCD won't work as it's only input is through the touchscreen. At the very least, it'll be quite impractical.

If the iPAQ no longer works, you might want to see if somebody wants to buy it on eBay for parts. Ditto if it works and you no longer use it. If the system board and/or LCD are working, somebody could use it (you'd be surprised).

If you want to start off with an inexpensive build, I would recommend searching through a local bargain hunter magazine (you can usually find these at grocery stores), eBay or craigslist for a cheap 15" LCD monitor. One with a bad backlight is fine as we don't use the backlight.
